Due to the remoteness characteristic of the landscape, Sundarbans people are one of the most neglected and underdeveloped communities in Bangladesh. They are an important force behind the economic growth of the southern region and entire Bangladesh. The communities here are also on the frontlines of protecting the Sundarbans and its important species. Bangladesh Ecotourism and Conservation Alliance (BECA) is working to ensure inclusive growth for this area through sustainable tourism that strengthens the conservation efforts for the Sundarbans and enhances the capacity of its partners in the tourism and conservation sectors. It cannot be achieved without the support of the Bangladeshi people. BECA believes in collaborative efforts and is very much willing to join hands with like-minded organizations to work towards the sustainable development of the Greater Sundarbans region.
BECA offers numerous opportunities for interested organizations and companies to help thrive in the communities and protect the world’s largest mangrove forest. By supporting this great cause, the investors will impact countless lives in many ways such as economic sustainability, women empowerment, marketing of the outstanding universal values of the Sundarbans to international communities, wildlife conservation, widening the research opportunities in the Sundarbans, and development of a trained workforce.
